People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We aim to pay for more trips out for our community-based projects, taking disabled people out into the community, to learn essential life skills, feel less lonely, and have a social life.
About this cause
We are a centre for learning and wellbeing for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and mental health needs. We help people improve their health, become more independent, move closer to employment, and enjoy a social life. We're working for a world where disabled people are fully included and have access to all the amenities and opportunities in their communities.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will mobilise our trained staff and volunteers to support adults with learning disabilities and autism to go out and access local services and amenities, like parks, gyms, and libraries. We'll support people to go on social trips and have fun, and we'll develop our befriending scheme to help tackle loneliness, isolation, and improve mental health.
