North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to offer wellbeing opportunities to parent carers within North Somerset. The purpose will be to reduce isolation and improve mental health without the burden of cost.
About this cause
We're a group who support and signpost parent carers of children/young people (aged 0-25) with additional needs and/or disabilities. At North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together (NSPCWT), we aim to bring parent carers together to reduce isolation, alleviate anxiety and increase their levels of happiness. Being a parent carer is both rewarding and demanding, but often personal wellbeing can suffer.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We aim to bring parent carers together so they can feel part of a supportive community. Being a parent carer is both rewarding and demanding. When an individual spends a great deal of time putting a child or young person’s needs above their own, their wellbeing can suffer. ‘Time For You’ wellbeing activities allow parent carers to connect with each other and reduce social isolation.
