We would use the money to buy an additional fridge-freezer and ambient storage capacity. We would like to buy comfortable seating so visitors can stop for a hot drink and a chat.
About this cause
We are a group who want to reduce the amount of food going to waste by collecting from local supermarkets, food businesses and individuals, and distributing in our bi-weekly sessions to anyone who can make use of it. There are no barriers to who can come to the pantry. This can help the whole community deal with the increase in the cost of living including those experiencing food poverty.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By buying a second fridge-freezer and additional storage we will be able to collect more food waste from additional suppliers. This will increase the number of families and individuals we can help and also the quantity of food they can take. We hope to provide a comfortable seating area in the new community centre which will give visitors a chance to chat and exchange recipe and budgeting ideas.
