We run relaxed, Covid-safe craft sessions for those who are less likely to go out and meet others, giving them an opportunity to chat and socialise whilst enjoying tea and cake.
About this cause
We are a small local charity and community centre. We offer arts and crafts workshops to young people and older residents who have suffered from Covid lock-down and restrictions. We work with local food bank users, Age UK and those suffering from mental illness and loneliness.
How this cause brings people in the community together
At the Hearth Art and Community centre we feel the need to extend the small craft sessions we have been running for older residents who have suffered from isolation. They are lonely and often reluctant to come out and join in with others. We keep the session numbers low and ensure social distancing. The feedback to date has been amazing and our aim is to run something similar throughout 2023.
