People: Supporting young people to fulfil their potential
We would use the funds to continue offering free drama and creative activities for young people. We would also deliver Discover & Explore Arts Award qualifications for our BLAST Youth Theatre members.
About this cause
Elevator Arts was set up in February 2020 to deliver drama and arts projects that effect social change and improve young people’s lives in Southend & South Essex. We work with communities who experience disadvantage & social exclusion such as through poverty, mental illness, disability and/or homelessness, and those who experience multiple barriers to learning and inclusion.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project helps improve our community members' English language skills, and further develops life and social skills for young people. We support mental health through building self-confidence, self-esteem and a positive self-image, and help young people, who are often under represented, to amplify their voices and develop a sense of personal progression.
