Idlewild Animal Sanctuary
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to fund supervision staff to provide positive, active, one-to-one support for people with disabilities and additional needs during their time at the sanctuary.
About this cause
We work to promote good health, wellbeing and mindfulness and encourage others to live a kind, cruelty-free life by providing animal encounters. Our objectives are to relieve the suffering of animals in need, to educate the public and to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. We aim to educate the public in matters pertaining to the prevention of cruelty and suffering in animals.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We wish to employ supervision staff for people with disabilities and additional needs who need one-to-one support to volunteer and spend time with the animals. This will help improve mental health, wellbeing and personal development through engagement at the sanctuary. It is well documented that spending time with animals is beneficial to mental and emotional wellbeing.
