People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to run four new groups for parents who are isolated, or whose child has special educational needs.
About this cause
We work alongside families in South London and East Surrey to promote secure and confident childhoods and enable them to thrive in the future. We aim to build on positive elements of family life, working with service users to prevent everyday challenges from escalating, encouraging them to take steps to move forward and develop tools for resilience.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will host groups for parents and young children with special education needs and disabilities. We will work with families who are isolated or have sought asylum in this country. The groups will deliver specialist play and activity, support child development and help those with speech delay. The groups offer opportunities for mothers to access peer support and build their own networks.
