We'd like to buy food that can supplement donations from individuals and local businesses, for our Balfron Phone Box Food Exchange. This ensures a continuous source of food for those who need it.
About this cause
One of Balfron Community Council's key objectives is "to promote the wellbeing of the community and to foster community spirit". Our food exchange is an example of this where during the pandemic, the community supported one another when supplies were short. We are looking to continue to use the phone box as a place where people can donate what they can and take what what they need.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Balfron Community Council set up a food exchange in our phone box during the pandemic with the support of individuals, local business and organisations supplying donations. The food exchange is well-used and we want to continue with the essential facility offered over the last few years into the future, making things better for all those in the community who are living with food poverty.
