About this cause

What We Do: Balloch Village Trust (BVT) was formed in April 2006 to benefit the community of Balloch in the Highlands. One of our key aims is to manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the village. Our other aim is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Community, by associating with the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide, or assist in providing, facilities for recreation. How We Change Lives: Over the past 3 years our committee has developed a woodland strategy for the Balloch Community Woods, clearing trees, repairing paths and creating a new seating area. This community asset is now a safer, more accessible and enjoyable space for all to enjoy.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Despite having a population of 1700, Balloch remains one of the few villages in the area not to have a playpark. Located next to the Community Hall and Primary School (which has a school role of 235 children) the park will be a focal point for the village. The playpark will be a valuable resource for parents and grandparents who pick up from school, childminders, the local baby and toddler group, local football club and families who would just like to go and play together The play equipment has been carefully chosen to provide active outdoor play for all ages from toddlers to teenagers. There will be a smaller climbing tower for toddlers, large climbing tower for older children, trim trail for use by everyone depending on ability and swings for all.
