Blaze Trails
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
Blaze Trails is an inclusive community supporting parents to get outdoors with their babies. Through free weekly walks & providing support on getting outside, we seek to reduce isolation & loneliness.
About this cause
Blaze Trails supports new parents to get outdoors and go walking with their babies. Being a new parent often comes with loneliness, isolation, depression and anxiety. We know that connecting with others, being active and getting outdoors can help. We make getting outdoors as easy as possible, organising regular group walks and providing support to break down barriers and improve parents' confidence.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will expand Blaze Trails into a new part of Yorkshire, providing group walks, support and information to connect new parents in North Yorkshire. We know these activities have a positive impact on mental health, by reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. We will expand the reach of Blaze Trails in the community by being deliberately inclusive of marginalised communities.
