Autism Wellbeing CIC
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to produce a series of free resources for autistic girls and women on 'difficult-to-talk-about' topics such as gender, self-harm, menstruation, consent, contraception, sex and pregnancy.
About this cause
We're a group who want to change how autism and autistic people are perceived and treated, so that wellbeing and opportunities are improved. We provide a free, unfunded telephone support service and online peer support groups. We have produced more than 70 free downloadable information sheets for autistic people during the Covid-19 pandemic and were given a Carmarthenshire Lockdown Legend accolade.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project would help autistic girls and women and their supporters to come together to broach life experiences often deemed difficult-to-talk-about or even taboo. Our resources will provide an opportunity for autistic women and girls and their supporters to co-operate in finding a way through these difficult-to-talk-about life experiences. Life is less difficult with someone alongside you.
