Community Wise
Young people
We wish to invite young people in school or college, or who are unemployed, to participate in a volunteering and work experience ten-week programme that will enhance their employability and skills.
About this cause
We're a group that wants to provide a great experience of community life for people of all ages and from all backgrounds, including those in need. We provide community activities for young people, parents and toddlers, a winter-night shelter, a charity shop, and opportunities for volunteering. We provide community facilities for hire and space for support groups that have no premises of their own.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The trainees will experience working in a charity shop, or at Community Wise reception, enabling them to mix with the community and cooperate with customers, staff and other volunteers. Meeting, serving and helping people of different ages and backgrounds will increase confidence and build community networks and a sense of belonging. Networks between young and old will be widened.
