We will offer 2 exercise classes of yoga and boxing a week and a drop-in chat for young people with poor mental health.
About this cause
Chat 1st works with like-minded groups and organisations to provide exercise and activity programmes as an intervention and recovery tool for poor mental health. Using a uniquely skilled workforce from instructors to peer support workers, the team actively seeks to improve the participants' mental, physical and social wellbeing, whatever the social setting.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Covid pandemic has had multiple effects on the lives of young people. They have the worry for family members, change of routine with school closures and sports clubs shutting, and a feeling of isolation and loneliness. Young people already living with mental health conditions have worsened. The hub will bring those young people together socially and will focus on their recovery using exercise.
