The Regal Theatre Minehead
People: Supporting young people to fulfil their potential
We wish to complete the conversion of basement space into dressing rooms, which are vital for local young performers and visiting companies. This is vital to the post-covid recovery of our theatre.

About this cause
The Regal brings the arts to Minehead and its neighbouring villages. They are home to communities who otherwise have little/no access to the arts, being some 25+ miles/an hour's drive from any other cultural resources. Our engagement with local young people is also of great benefit to the community as it ensures children and young people enjoy and take part in performance arts, in turn gaining valuable social and life/work skills.
How this cause brings people in the community together
At the heart of Minehead's community for 25+ years, the Regal brings high-quality art/leisure to the 12,000 population, who otherwise have no access to such culture. It is a community hub in other ways too: more than 250 local volunteers work together to run every aspect of the Theatre, and it is 'home' to those aged 5-25 who, via performance arts, grow in confidence and social skills.
