Alzheimer’s Support
Mental wellbeing
We would like to provide a range of social activities aimed at people living with dementia across Wiltshire, along with their carers and families.
About this cause
Alzheimer's Support provides practical and flexible support to people living at home with dementia in Wiltshire and their family carers, enabling people to lead active, independent and meaningful lives. Our services have evolved over the last 30 years to include award-winning day clubs, one-to-one companionship, a network of singing, exercise, art and outdoor nature groups, and a dementia adviser service.
How this cause brings people in the community together
People with dementia have been hit hard by the virus and have had their support and routines disrupted; it is vital to rebuild connections swiftly but safely. Our Creating Connections activities programme has developed organically from local needs with the groups now embedded in their localities, ensuring continual feedback on their effectiveness and the very real needs they are meeting.
