Big Hearts Community Trust
Young people
By tackling food poverty and social isolation, the School’s Out! project enables young people living in challenging circumstances to thrive during the school holidays.
About this cause
Big Hearts Community Trust is committed to changing lives through the power of football. We use the reach of Heart of Midlothian FC's badge and Stadium to support vulnerable groups across our community. We build partnerships with local organisations to deliver meaningful activities, addressing the biggest challenges on our doorstep, including child poverty, mental health and social isolation.

How this cause brings people in the community together
The young people attending School’s Out! come from various backgrounds, like kinship care, migrants or low income households. At the Stadium those differences disappear. They make new friends, spend time with other children from different cultures and learn to work together as a team. We believe the project helps young people improve their confidence and build their resilience for the future.
