Mental wellbeing

Isolation is a big threat to people living with dementia and their loved ones. We aim to support people directly and inform the communities of Bristol about Dementia.

About this cause

We're a group that wants to change the culture of Bristol to make it THE Dementia Friendly City in the UK, welcoming and supportive to people with dementia. We educate the community by running our monthly Memory Café; organising dementia awareness sessions for organisations, clubs, groups, and businesses; running dementia events, workshops and information stalls; and running a website with free resources.

How this cause brings people in the community together

People living with dementia are still very much part of the community. It is our hope that helping them feel less isolated will encourage greater community spirit and activities. We already have willing volunteers to host groups but our aim is for the people to run their own groups with our support. Music is a proven great soother and allows people to be part of their community.
