Dr Kershaw's Hospice
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to create a woodland circle of reflection to help boost the mental health and wellbeing of our patients and their families, as well as volunteers and staff at the hospice.
About this cause
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice provides compassionate and dignified end-of-life and respite care to adults in Oldham diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. The hospice has a 12-bed In-Patient Unit, and offers Hospice at Home and Caring Hands services. The hospice also provides bereavement support and complementary care in the Wellbeing Centre, which supports those living with a life-limiting illness.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice has a holistic approach to caring for those at the end of their lives, to ease pain and symptoms and tend to patients' emotional and spiritual needs. A special woodland area will provide a space of reflection that is open to patients, families, the Wellbeing Centre and bereavement support groups, staff and volunteers, to help boost their mental health and wellbeing.
