People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental environment to help people reach their full potential, offering them appropriate support and advocacy and helping to remove barriers in society.
About this cause
Our group aims to support and enable people to reach their full potential by offering advocacy and advice. We meet twice a week to help people who have been affected by Covid-19 either through illness or isolation. We provide budgeting advice, IT tuition, emotional wellbeing support and cookery workshops. We provide food for people who are hungry to help them through short-term crises.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have people from three months to 72 years currently attending the group. We encourage intergenerational mixing and find it enriches people of all ages. People who attend all live within a three-mile radius of the venue and are beginning to meet locally while shopping or walking. This has helped establish connections, with group members supporting each other during lockdown.
