The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre

Mental wellbeing

We aim to pay a professional to facilitate mindfulness courses to help people who have been affected by cancer to live in the now and not dwell on what might happen in the future.

About this cause

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life of cancer sufferers, their families and carers, and helping them cope, whatever their circumstances. We provide the vital additional support so often needed by those affected by cancer. We work alongside the clinical services of the NHS to assist people to live with and beyond the disease.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Courses are free to attend and open to all adults affected by cancer. Cancer does not discriminate and these courses enable people from all backgrounds to meet in a safe environment. By sharing and listening to each other's feelings, the individuals in the group are given the tools to learn how to manage life after cancer. These learnings have a knock-on effect to their support networks.
