Access to food
We will provide cooking classes, tips on food waste as well as redistribute surplus food, develop a community kitchen and garden to ensure healthy, sustainable food is available to all.
About this cause
We're a group who wants to boost the health and wellbeing of the community by boosting cookery skills and eating habits and feeding those in need. We aim to set up a community hub in Redruth where we will provide food education, cookery skills and equipment, food parcels to those in need alongside gardening activities in our community garden, allowing our community to grow, cook and thrive.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Teaching cookery skills to children and families, as well as overall food education including methods for healthy, sustainable food consumption, will boost mental and physical wellbeing in our users and their families by empowering people to live a healthier, happier life. Our outdoor community growing schemes will boost vital skills and the overall sense of community and wellbeing of our town.
