Carers in Bedfordshire
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We want to run online activities that support carers' wellbeing by creating a community and giving them a break from caring and a chance to do something for themselves.

About this cause
Carers look after spouses, parents, children, siblings or friends who could not manage without them. We give carers the knowledge, skills and support they need to better look after their loved ones. We give reassurance, information and advice, and bring carers together to help one another. Our programme of groups and activities creates communities and supports carers' health and wellbeing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Peer support helps carers feel less lonely and isolated. They see that they are not the only people facing the challenges of caring. If carers cannot leave the person they care for, online activities create a sense of community for them. They get support and sympathy from one another and a chance to take a break and do something for themselves. All of this improves their wellbeing.
