We provide community cook-ups run by a professional worker to engage all the community together and provide certified training opportunities for volunteers.
About this cause
We provide opportunities for anyone in our community to connect and feel supported through learning, signposting, cultural activities and having fun. We run a food larder, redistributing surplus food and making friends, allowing people access to debt advice, general advice and support without stigma. We also create group activities through community gardening, arts and cultural projects.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our ethos is doing things with people, not for people, which means we are all in it together - those with lots of experience of cooking and those with none and those with different experiences of culture and food. We have community members from Pakistan, Iraq and Singapore, and we would like to replicate their stories of feasting.
