About this cause

We support 3,500 people with mental health problems across Bradford annually. Our community is a mental health blackspot - hospital admissions, sections and common mental health problems are amongst the highest in England. Our nationally-pioneering, peer-led approach provides crisis support, a pathway to employment and a reason for living. 93% of people we support improve their mental wellbeing.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our project is a community-led solution to Bradford’s post-Covid mental health emergency. People tell us it is important to receive support that doesn’t feel clinical – they want to learn from people who understand and can share practical ways to cope. Our experience shows this improves mental health for 93% of people. 91% of Peer Support Workers say their role improves their own wellbeing.
