We aim to re-energise our library area, extend the book stock (non-fiction to engage reluctant readers; picture books for younger pupils), and run an afterschool story café for pupils and guests.
About this cause
We fundraise to provide educational resources that will accelerate competent learning, and specialist language training so teachers are skilled-up to address pupils' learning needs. All pupils, especially children from more deprived backgrounds, will benefit from the focus to promote cognitive, emotional and social regrowth to enable them to overcome the impact from Covid-19.
How this cause brings people in the community together
New resources will enhance reading and communication skills. All pupils will benefit, particularly disadvantaged pupils and non-English speaking families. The reading scheme will improve educational outcomes for pupils and empower self-learning across the community. The new books and supervised afterschool story café will help improve pupil wellbeing and reduce isolation in our community.
