The Chantry
Mental wellbeing
We would like to use the fund to aid with the renovation of the Chantry, as there are many areas in need of repair. The buildings are in constant use by groups from across the community.
About this cause
The Chantry is a huge asset to Thornbury and surrounding area. It provides a valuable meeting place for the community and enables the advancement of education, social welfare, leisure and recreation. Over 70 community groups regularly use the facilities and we would like to provide even more activities, courses and groups in the future.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The updating of our facilities will make the buildings more user-friendly as they are in high demand and some areas are currently in need of refurbishment. We will, amongst other things, be adding baby-changing facilities to the Coach Hall toilets during their refit as we have several baby groups that use the rooms on a regular basis, making it more practical and attractive for our users.
