About this cause

OpenStoryTellers supports people with learning disabilities to find their voice and use it. Stories are what make us human, they help us make sense of the world, make friends and take part in society. Our sensory garden that we created is a space for storytelling; we want to enhance it further by working together to grow food, helping us to maintain good physical/mental health and wellbeing.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our project would unite participants through gardening, and would enhance their connection with nature, boosting their wellbeing. It would also enable them to gain a deeper understanding of growing and cooking with natural produce to maintain a healthy, balanced diet, leading to better health outcomes. The project will also involve open days where the wider community will be invited to join in.
