People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We'd like to improve our forest craft area so we can welcome groups of all ages and abilities. It would be somewhere special for people to learn a craft and experience the benefits of being outdoors.
About this cause
Camphill Village Trust helps people with learning and other disabilities to lead a life of opportunity. Our service runs all year and there are many workshops to get involved with: from textiles and design to the bakery, pottery, forest craft and the Social Farm. In this shared community life everyone is supported to live, learn, work and play together to lead a life of opportunity.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project would allow us to bring more isolated or marginalised people into the community, so they can share the benefits of green care on mental health and wellbeing. There would also be intergenerational benefits as we work with different groups to nurture positive new relationships. Being outdoors means the project will also be able to continue if another lockdown is called.
