About this cause
We care for children with complex health conditions, who are not expected to live into adulthood. This includes urgent care, palliative care and multi-sensory therapy and play. We also support over 300 families a year to cope with the unique challenges of life with a seriously ill child by providing respite care that allows parents and siblings to take some much-needed time to themselves.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Covid-19 has been devastating for our families, many of whom have had to shield for large parts of the year, further limiting the child’s development and increasing isolation for the whole family. Play contributes enormously to each child’s growth, development and wellbeing. Our specialist support ensures more children experience these benefits and gives families respite from their caring duties.
