People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
Our social clubs and activity days for people with learning disabilities and autism enable them to combat social isolation, build confidence and friendships, boost life skills and develop resilience.

About this cause
We’re a charity which believes people with learning disabilities and/or autism deserve to live life to the full. Across Oxfordshire we run social clubs, activity days, residential respite breaks and workplace training schemes based in our social enterprise cafes. In 2020 we supported nearly 600 individuals from age 11 upwards, and our social networks have no upper age limit.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Lockdown was an especially hard time for learning disabled people. We know face to face social activities help to heal the legacy of social isolation that was suffered. Our daytime and evening activities enable us to offer respite to parents/carers, safe space, fun and freedom to our members. We use community venues and recruit local volunteers to build local relationships, so everyone wins.
