We would like to be able to hire a cook to help with the high demand we are experiencing for healthy ready meals.
About this cause
During Covid-19, the community responded to our call for support and the number of volunteers increased to help deliver the extra demand. The local community generously donated to help those less fortunate and our community of customers also expanded as people from the surrounding area came to get help. We also host activities including community meals, classes and cooking demonstrations.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The pandemic has defined our service in the community as the primary food crisis service in South West Fife. We grow and share food, reduce waste, help the environment and improve food education through intergenerational volunteering and learning new skills. The sharing of surplus food on a donation basis provides dignified relief for those experiencing food poverty.
