About this cause

We're a group who wants to support and empower vulnerable women into independent living in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. The majority of our beneficiaries suffer with mental health issues, many due to the effects of domestic violence and abuse, as well as addictions, disabilities, bereavement, poverty and anxiety. We support and empower women by providing 1:1 support and training.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our project will help the local community come together by providing a safe place to improve mental wellbeing. Our community cafe (Water Lily Cafe on Barrack Road) is run by volunteers, supervised by our cafe supervisor and is open to the public. We offer value-for-money nutritious meals, a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and activities such as chatty tables and a book club for men and women.
