About this cause
We are a local charity which teaches vital emergency life-saving skills, like CPR, to our communities. This need is amplified by the pandemic. In order to save lives from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, we want to support bystander CPR and improve survival rates. These skills need to be delivered differently and safely due to Covid-19 restrictions, and we require funds to change our training as a response.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We've found social distancing has led to a decrease in bystander CPR. We would like to show local communities that they can support each other with life-saving skills in a safe manner. Bystander CPR increases survival chances from 8%-32%. We'll be inviting local groups and organisations, including Scouts, Guides and housing associations etc. to host a free Heartstart course.
