About this cause

Danybryn in Radyr is a residential care service supporting 31 people with a variety of disabilities and additional needs. We closed our doors on 23rd March to non-essential visitors. Since then, the only contact has been through shared iPads or staff smartphones. The biggest impact of COVID-19 has been on the mental health and wellbeing plus the loneliness of residents/guests, and it's our role to re-build our community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Support residents to share and build upon existing knowledge, whilst creating new relationships. We will recruit new volunteers through local groups such as local gardening allotments, societies, rotaries, and garden centres. We will deliver practical, sustainable engagement which benefits the wider community, who will be able to share the outdoor space when restrictions ease.
