About this cause
We are the Riding for the Disabled Association Glasgow Group, and we're dedicated to improving the lives of disabled people across Greater Glasgow through the provision of horse riding and hippotherapy. We currently have 273 riders and over 80% of our riders are under the age of 26. Also, 13 additional needs schools ride here in 10-week blocks.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The importance of friendship cannot be undervalued to young people who are socially isolated and excluded from mainstream activities. We are a place where our users can learn skills and feel comfortable with their friends. Our participants grow in confidence and are encouraged by local volunteers to achieve British Horse Society Riding and Horse Care proficiency certificates.
