Pending display name

We would like to train 40 young farmers, aged 8-13, to care for farm animals and grow their own fruit and vegetables. Our aim is to deliver free veg boxes to families on low incomes.

About this cause

The Farm is open and free to visit 7 days a week. We run projects for all ages to get hands-on, practical experience of farming; food production; animal care; horticulture; cooking; nutrition; healthy eating; and outdoor activity. Projects include training for schools, children, youth, older people and adults with learning disabilities; holiday projects; seasonal fairs; and a mobile farm for outreach visits.

How this cause brings people in the community together

During lockdown, our volunteers and young farmers have tended and harvested vegetable and fruit plots to create food boxes for families on low incomes that are known through our projects, or are referred to us. Our young farmers and youth assistants would like to continue this tradition, and create recipe cards for the families so that they can enjoy healthy, fresh meals.
