We wish to buy an interactive display screen to improve our communication, using child-friendly educational material, when local schools, children's groups, cubs and brownies, etc, visit the railway.

About this cause
We are a free-to-enter, community-based, non-profit organisation, run and operated entirely by volunteers of all ages. Throughout the season from April to December, we hold numerous family events that are popular with the community. The only narrow-gauge railway in Lancashire, we host many school visits, providing education through demonstrations and displays of our heritage fleet of steam locomotives.

How this cause brings people in the community together
During the coronavirus pandemic, schools and children's groups have been closed. Children and young people will have been home-learning but their visits to our railway have been impossible due to the restrictions. When they do come back and visit us, we want to give them the maximum educational benefit by communicating with them using the mediums they use for their entertainment.
