We would like to buy a range of educational sensory equipment for 120 children in the DEx community, and enable them to reunite in group sessions with their families and elderly residents.
About this cause
Downright Excellent (DEx) specialises in helping children with down's syndrome to develop life skills and maximise their potential to ensure integration and self-responsibility. A massive part of our work unites those families so they support each other and foster community spirit. Also, DEx enables elderly people in the local community to connect with children through sociable activities at Sundial.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By reinstating specialist group sessions, we aim to strengthen relationships in DEx and reaffirm the community post-lockdown. Families, children with down's syndrome and the elderly at Sundial will reunite and the special sensory equipment will enhance togetherness. We aim to continue to improve individual achievement, promote wellbeing in families and stimulate community inclusion.
