The DASH Volunteer Programme will create 50 sustainable, supported volunteering opportunities for DASH service users and service users of partner organisations across County Durham.
About this cause
DASH provides accommodation to people between the ages of 16 and 65 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. DASH currently has 63 individual bed spaces across County Durham in a number of different properties, including the charity's pioneering Vulnerable Women's Project.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Cooperation and partnership is at the core of the DASH Volunteer Programme. By helping DASH residents to volunteer with partner organisations, and offering partner organisations the opportunity to engage in supported voluntary activity with DASH, the DASH Volunteer Programme will bring groups together and create new relationships which did not exist prior to the programme's existence.
