About this cause
The Charity is established to help educate young people through anytime activities with the aim of developing their physical, mental and spiritual capacities as they grow to full maturity and to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community by young people, in particular the advancement of education and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness by: (a) Providing work placements for young people up to the age of 25 years. (b) Developing community links and support for work experience. (c) Enhancing the character of young persons by providing skills, training and support Our project supports disadvantaged 16-25 year olds who live in West Sussex.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Outset Youth Action (Outset) is an independent county wide youth organisation and registered Charity which operates over the whole county of West Sussex. Historically we have acted as a volunteering agency for young people aged 13 – 25, encouraging and supporting young people to take on a wide range of volunteering opportunities within their community. In 2015/16 young people contributed in total over 16,214 hours of volunteering time. The nature of these opportunities has been to provide support and benefit to West Sussex communities and contribute to each young person’s own personal development. Outset has established a good reputation and has developed strong and creative long standing links with statutory, private, voluntary and community sectors.
