About this cause
MindFood helps people tackle stress, depression, anxiety, and isolation by teaching food-growing and self-care techniques to improve mental health, like mindfulness. We reconnect people with nature, and with others, empowering them to nurture their own wellbeing. We’re a diverse and inclusive community, sharing a common purpose in the garden, no matter how different our individual life experiences.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Covid-19 is a mental health crisis: stress, anxiety and isolation are overwhelming many. Long-term unemployment, hardship and social inequality raises the risk of depression. Our sessions offer positivity, community-building teamwork, and a chance to learn practical skills that will empower and inspire. It's an opportunity to move forward with a common goal and enjoy respite from everyday worries.
