We aim to bring the community together by providing support for families with young children and by welcoming villagers to celebrate 40 years of Panda Playgroup in Copmanthorpe.
About this cause
A committee of volunteers runs a playgroup for 2-4-year-olds and drop-in sessions for children aged 0-4 and their carers. The playgroup provides vital childcare. The drop-in service helps combat isolation amongst new parents, and provides important socialisation and play opportunities for young children. In 2021, we will be celebrating our 40th year.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will attract new families to our drop-in group, such as those who have had a new baby during lockdown. This will reduce feelings of isolation and help people make connections, having a positive effect on parental mental health. Our project will help local activity providers impacted by the crisis. Our wider 40th birthday celebrations will help other residents to reconnect with the community.
