We would like to be able to provide weekly, volunteer-led wellbeing groups for homeless people in Truro, to support their mental and physical wellbeing.
About this cause
St Petrocs is a frontline Cornish homeless charity. We’re working to end street homelessness in Cornwall by providing accommodation, support, advice, training and resettlement services to people who are homeless. Many of the people we work with are having one of the most difficult times of their lives while they try to navigate homelessness and be able to build the foundations to move forward.
How this cause brings people in the community together
During the Covid-19 lockdown, many homeless people and the residents in our accommodation experienced social isolation, lack of community, connection and resources, due to most public places being closed. Our volunteer-led weekly wellbeing and art sessions will help people who are homeless in Truro to feel better connected, engaged, more supported and in better mental and physical health.
