Inclusive cookery classes for disabled people
Pending display name
We would like to run cookery classes from our onsite inclusive kitchen so our residents and members of the local community can come together; helping all who attend to learn an essential life skill.

About this cause
Located just outside of Crawley, Heatherley is a Leonard Cheshire residential home providing support and nursing care for physically disabled adults. Personalised support helps to make sure everyone can live as independently as they choose. In the community, we support disabled people to be fully involved in whichever aspects of their local community they wish.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The impact of coronavirus on disabled people has been more severe than for any other group. Isolation has led to an increase in anxiety and depression, with one in ten disabled people feeling severely lonely during this time. This project would enable people from the Heatherley family to engage with others in the local community; improving mental wellbeing.
