We would like to create a comfortable and welcoming dining area and outside recreation area for students to enjoy during their break times.
About this cause
We are a small secondary school with a big heart and a strong sense of community. Our students come from Sonning Common and the surrounding villages, Emmer Green, Caversham and beyond. We strive to be an integral part of the local and wider community by helping our students be the very best they can be. We provide an area for the local youth club to base themselves, we host numerous events for local primary schools including cross country, athletics and sports events, as well as provide venue hire to various local groups including a choir, orchestra, dance school, evening school and numerous sports clubs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The pandemic has shown us that school life plays an integral role in our students' mental health and wellbeing. We want to make improvements that every student will benefit from. We hope by improving the dining area and making it more inviting, we will encourage more students to enjoy a healthy, home cooked meal as well as offer a more comfortable space for students to enjoy outside.
