About this cause
We are Croydon’s service user group for people with a severe and enduring mental illness. We provide specialist peer support surgeries. Our charity is wholly run by service users. This gives us strength and insight into the barriers faced by some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We empower people to engage with services that tackle social isolation and improve health and wellbeing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Open forums encourage different communities to come together who all have a shared experience of mental illness. Our existing forum model can act as a basis to reach vulnerable people who are unable to attend physical meetings but can access the internet. This will mean more of the most isolated people will play a role in their local communities, sharing experience to strengthen our society.
