We would extend the blood-borne virus testing project we are currently doing for rough sleepers, to the rest of the untested homeless community who are living in hostels and supported accommodation.

About this cause

Our vision is to eliminate new HIV infections in Brighton and Hove by 2030. Our purpose is to facilitate the city-wide HIV prevention response, ensuring that we are working together towards common goals. We strive for innovation in HIV prevention and care, as well as advancing public awareness of HIV to reduce stigma. We also screen for other blood born viruses where possible.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This project is a collaboration between multiple agencies in the city caring for the homeless. We are planning data-sharing agreements across different organisations to improve co-ordinated care for clients. We have close ties with St Mungo's, St John Ambulance and Arch Healthcare, to name but a few. Extending the project would have a positive impact on this population.
