About this cause
We connect people of different cultures and support the needs of the vulnerable, such as refugees and asylum seekers, in Bristol. We deliver two befriending partnerships and a craft group to promote mental health and reduce isolation, and we train refugees to teach Arabic classes. We also host monthly social events for refugee families and host community Peace Feast dinners, impacting more than 2,000 people a year.

How this cause brings people in the community together
Our befriending work already supports up to 100 refugee and asylum-seeking individuals in Bristol to offer weekly emotional and physical support. We have continued our projects online and by telephone during the coronavirus to reduce isolation. Our craft group has recruited an extra 35 volunteers to help make face masks. and we are recruiting new volunteers to befriend for Walk With Me.
