Carers Support Centre

We would like to support the mental and physical health of young carers by giving them a break, including summer and Christmas activities, day trips and art, cookery, drama and sports workshops.

About this cause
We support young carers, from the age of eight, with assessments, one-to-one and family support, groups and activities. We give adult carers phone and online support, counselling, befriending, employment support, a carers emergency card, short breaks and activities, and one-to-one and group support. We also support carers in hospitals and GP practices and provide training for carers and professionals.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Having a break increases young carers’ resilience, so they can continue caring for sick and vulnerable family members in a robust and safe way. Joining in with activities helps their wellbeing and creates lasting friendships and peer support. Activities provide a fun and entertaining break, as well as life skills and training. Activities will decrease anxiety, loneliness and isolation.
