We'd like to provide an outdoor meeting space for the local community, maximising the benefits of being in the fresh air both for mental health and those particularly vulnerable to Covid-19.
About this cause
The PTA supports the 1000 children and families attending Chesterton Community College by funding equipment and resources to improve life experiences. The PTA also supports the community and local primary school by giving access to the equipment and resources, including providing a shared-use minibus, outdoor table tennis tables, climbing wall, grand piano and more.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We know from our work in the local community that since the outbreak of Covid-19, elderly and vulnerable people are reticent about going back to their normal lives and taking part again in groups and societies they would have previously been involved with. We hope by offering an outdoor venue, more people will be able to access a group and have social contact.
